Bristol M1c Monoplane replica

The latest plane to confirm attendance is a semi-scale Bristol Monoplane M1c replica of a ww1 shoulder wing fighter. Handbuilt by a husband and wife team over 9 months, this was constructed using traditional methods where possible.
The Bristol was built in 1916 and was one of the few monoplane fighters built during the war. It did not see action on the western front although its performance was equal to that of the best fighters of its day. This was due to the fact it needed more open area for take off and landing than available in small front line french airfields.

Instead it was used as a trainer and for personal transport for officers, however it was used extensively as a fighter/scout in the middle east during 1916 and 1917.
